The US will participate in a joint military exercise with India. The exercise will be held in mid-October at a distance of less than 100 km from India’s disputed border with China.

In this regard, a senior officer of the Indian Army said that the exercise will be held at a height of 10,000 feet in Auli, Uttarakhand, India. The exercise will emphasize high altitude combat training. News from CNN.

Auli is located 95 km from the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The LAC is rugged mountainous terrain that marks the disputed border between India and China after the 1962 war. The 18th exercise, known as ‘Juddha Abhaya or War Practice’, will be held as part of the annual joint exercise.

In June 2020, 20 Indian soldiers and 4 Chinese soldiers were killed in a bloody clash between the armies of the two countries in the Himalayan region. Since then, the relationship between China and India has been strained.
