India’s Central Investigating Agency CBI has arrested Trinamool Congress district president Anubrata Mondal of West Bengal’s Birbhum district in the cow smuggling case . He was arrested from his house in Bolpur in Birbhum on Thursday morning.
He was reportedly taken to Asansol after his arrest. He will be taken to court there. He may then be taken to Odisha for questioning.
Before this , Anuvrata avoided CPI’s summons 9 times. However, nothing has been reported about the arrest from the CBI in this regard.
Meanwhile, the opposition celebrated Anuvrata’s arrest. BJP workers are distributing nakuldana, gur and batasa.
