As part of the ongoing “July March,” leaders of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) have arrived in Narayanganj. On Friday, July 18, at around 3 PM, the NCP delegation reached the Nitai Ganj area in the city.

At approximately 4:30 PM, the NCP formally commenced its “July March” from Nitai Ganj. This political party, formed under the leadership of young activists who spearheaded the July Movement, organized the event in Narayanganj as part of their nationwide campaign.

Among those present were the party’s central convener and former advisor to the caretaker government, Nahid Islam, as well as prominent leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement, including Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Nasiruddin Patwari, Tasnim Zara, and Samantha Sharmin.

Ahmedur Rahman Tonu, Joint Coordinator of the NCP’s Narayanganj District Committee and a central committee member, stated that the central convener Nahid Islam would engage in lunch and discussions with the families of victims of the July Movement and members of the local Dalit community in Nitai Ganj. The march would begin afterward and conclude at the city’s central point, Chashara Square.

A street rally is also scheduled in front of the Victory Monument later in the afternoon.
