Two passengers of an auto-rickshaw were killed in a bus accident in Mymensingh’s Phulpur. Four others were injured in this incident. The incident took place on Friday afternoon at around 4:30 pm at Bansati Paschim Para on the Mymensingh-Sherpur road.
The deceased are Mizan Mia (27) son of Hazrat Ali of Chandhara Union of the upazila and Manjurul Islam (37) son of Nurul Islam of Nagua village of the same upazila.
Police and locals said that in the afternoon, an auto-rickshaw from Nakla reached a place called Paschim Para when a Sherpur-bound bus hit the auto-rickshaw. The autorickshaw overturned and 6 passengers were injured. Later they were rescued and taken to Nakla and Phulpur Upazila Health Complex. A person named Mizan Mia died at Phulpur Upazila Swastha Complex. Meanwhile, when Manjurul Islam was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital with serious injuries, the doctor declared him dead.
