A young woman from Habiganj, who was tortured by her owner and her family members in Saudi Arabia, has requested to return home. Recently, when the clip of him conveying this request to his family through video call went viral on social media, it got a huge response.
The tortured young artist is the daughter of Abdul Majeed of Taiigaon, Ahmedabad Union, Chunarughat Upazila of Akhter District.
In the viral video, the young woman is seen crying to her mother saying, ‘I want alms from you. Take my country back. Three years have been holding me back. He caught me and beat me. Beat the owner, beat the pool-puir of the owner. If you don’t take me back to the country, I will send the body to Bangladesh.
The artist’s mother Nurchan Bibi said that her daughter went to Saudi Arabia in April 2019. She took a job as a maid in a house there. However, they do not know exactly which area of Saudi Arabia the house is in.
The artist’s father, Abdul Majeed, said, “I sent my daughter to Saudi Arabia due to lack in the family. The artist went there through 4 Site International Limited in Old Paltan, Dhaka. Now my daughter is in a lot of trouble. I want my daughter back.’
When the director of the organization Khaled Hossain was contacted in this regard, he said, ‘We are trying to bring the girl back to the country. I have complained about this to the ministry a month ago. I hope I can bring him back to the country soon.’
UNO Siddharth Bhowmik said that no complaint has been made by the artist’s family yet. If they file a written complaint, efforts will be made to bring him back to the country through the embassy.
