The Eastern Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army said that several forces conducted preparatory patrols and combat exercises at sea and in the air on Monday.
The Eastern Theater Command also says the exercise is a strong counter to the continued political strategy of the US and Taiwan to undermine peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
China’s Ministry of Defense said in a separate statement that US lawmakers’ visit to Taiwan is a violation of China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
