Shariful Islam, a resident of Jagdishpur Mandalpara in Rangpur city, said that the electricity has come and gone 6 times in 24 hours. The situation is the same in the cities and upazilas including New Engineerpara, Central Road, Bahar Kachna, Kamal Kachna, Satmatha.
In 4 upazilas including Lalmonirhat Sadar, Kaliganj, Patgram, Hatibandha, load shedding is happening multiple times every day for one to one and a half hours. In Panchagarh, there is no electricity for 5 to 7 hours in a day and for 4 to 5 hours after 6 pm.
Acting General Manager of Kurigram-Lalmonirhat Palli Vidyut Samity Mustafa Kamal said that 17 feeders which have hospitals and cold storage have to be given load shedding for 2 hours every day and at least 4 hours every day for the remaining feeders. In Thakurgaon, there was electricity for about 15 hours in 24 hours on Wednesday.
Rural people in Sylhet are suffering : Rural areas in Sylhet have to stay without electricity for 10-12 hours. There is no electricity for 3-4 hours. Akbar Hossain, a businessman of Sachna Bazar in Sunamganj’s Bhati area, said that there was no electricity in Sachna Bazar from 4 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday. Sohail Ahmed, a trader in the new market of Jaflong in Goainghat upazila of Sylhet, said that there was no electricity from Tuesday evening till late night. Loadshedding has happened several times till yesterday afternoon.
