Abul Hossain, the owner of Concord Apex Recruiting Agency, was smuggling divorced women abroad with the promise of high-paying jobs, luxurious living and free Hajj in various countries including the Middle East. He used to target unemployed, less educated, poor and divorced women from poor families. He has a network of brokers all over the country. He used the signboard of his legitimate organization in these misdeeds.
This information was obtained after the arrest of Abul Hossain and his associate Aliya Begum. Last Sunday, a team of RAB-1 arrested them from the office of Concord Apex Recruiting Agency in Nayapalton area of the capital. At that time, three women who were kept in the office to smuggle abroad were also rescued. Later, 31 passports, 22 pages of various documents for smuggling and two mobile phones were seized.
RAB-1 commander Lt. Col. Abdullah Al-Momen gave the information about the arrest of the two people at a press conference organized at the RAB media center in the capital’s Karwan Bazar on Monday. He said that the arrested Abul Hossain is an active member of the international human trafficking ring. He was committing heinous crimes like trafficking and torture of women under the cover of his legitimate organization. Aleya Begum is one of his collaborators in this work. Apart from this there are numerous brokers.
The RAB captain said that Abul Hossain, through the brokers, mainly unemployed, less educated, poor and poor families, married or divorced girls and women of the society, get high-paying jobs in various countries including the Middle East, experience in flying, royal living and dining facilities, smartphones and religious lures such as performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia. He used to smuggle abroad with the lure of job. In this way, he stole millions of rupees. He said that after going abroad, Abul’s gang first kept the women in windowless rooms and after two-three days the nationals of those countries picked the victims and took them home. After being taken home, they are subjected to inhuman torture by making them do all kinds of work, giving them poor or no food and beating them for no reason.
Arrested Abul Hossain and Aleya Begum said in RAB’s interrogation that if someone agreed to go abroad after being enticed by their words, they would take tips from foreign travelers and families in white stamps to avoid legal trouble. Later, they used to type the contract at their own convenience.
