The district and police administration of Nilphamari have paid floral tribute at the grave of brave teacher Meherin Chowdhury, who tragically lost her life while saving 20 students during a plane crash involving a training aircraft near Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka.
On Wednesday (July 23) afternoon, Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman and Superintendent of Police A.F.M. Tariq Hossain Khan visited her grave at Bagulagari Chowdhurypara in Jaldhaka and paid their respects by laying flowers.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman said, “The bravery of Meherin Chowdhury has made us proud. Her sacrifice sets a unique example for the current generation.”
Superintendent of Police A.F.M. Tariq Hossain Khan added, “She was a humane, courageous, and exemplary teacher. Her sacrifice will remain an inspiration for society.”
Also present at the tribute were Jaldhaka Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Zaid Imrul Mozakkin, Officer-in-Charge of Jaldhaka Police Station Arju Md. Sajjad Hossain, among others.
It is worth noting that on Monday (July 21) afternoon, a training aircraft crashed in Uttara, Dhaka, during which Meherin Chowdhury managed to save the lives of at least 20 students of Milestone School and College.
She later succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment. On Tuesday afternoon, she was laid to rest at her family graveyard in Bagulagari Chowdhurypara, Jaldhaka, Nilphamari.
